Our Curriculum

Our Teaching Aproach

Our curriculum is play-based and child-centred, supporting each child’s development at their own pace. Through guided exploration and meaningful experiences, we nurture confident, curious, and capable learners, laying strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

At Tiny Giants Academy, our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, a UK-based approach to early childhood education for children from birth to five years. EYFS focuses on learning through play, positive relationships, and supportive environments, ensuring every child develops strong communication, social, emotional, physical, and early academic skills. This approach helps children grow into confident, curious, and capable learners, well prepared for the next stage of their education.

About The EYFS Curriculum

Physical Development

Children strengthen both fine and gross motor skills through movement, outdoor play, and hands-on activities. They learn coordination, balance, and control while developing healthy habits and an awareness of how to care for their bodies.

Literacy

Early literacy skills are nurtured through storytelling, songs, phonics activities, and mark-making. Children develop a love for books, learn to recognise sounds and letters, and begin to understand reading and writing in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

About The EYFS Curriculum

Mathematics

Children explore numbers, shapes, patterns, and simple problem-solving through play-based and practical activities. They develop early counting skills, number recognition, and an understanding of everyday mathematical concepts.

Understanding The World

Children learn about their environment, people, and communities through exploration and discovery. Activities encourage curiosity about nature, culture, technology, and everyday experiences, helping children make sense of the world around them.
